First Public Hair Donation In Dubai
Dubai will be wiping away the tears of chemo by hosting the first public hair donation event on the 20th May at 10 AM. 6 year old boy will be the star of the show as he donates 25 inches of his hair. His father is a cancer survivor and that motivated Ariea to help other cancer patients.
Ariea is only one of the 50 boys who donated from Dubai alone spurred by covid. More than 20 boys donated at a previous event held at the Indian Consulate Dubai where they appreciated the children for helping cancer patients
This is also the 10th birthday celebration of Hair for hope india said Premi Mathew, who organised the event . She is the founder of the movement in both India and UAE and is a cancer survivor. The hair donated in UAE goes to friends of cancer patients, an initiative by the Shiekha of Sharjah. The hair will be converted into wigs and given free to chemo patients.
The event is a CSR Initiative of Novotel & Ibis World Trade Centre and Ibis One Central in partnership with hair for hope India and FOCP.
What is truly beautiful is that 5 ponytails were given directly to a chemo patient and the donors will actually experience the joy of donating a wig with their own hair too. The most touching event was when a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient too donated. She said she got a lot of confidence to face the disease after the event wherein she met 2 cancer surviors
Niki Shah , a UAE based influencer with 2 million followers was the guest of honor. She cut the hair of the 6 year old boy and inaugurate the event. Nikki too had donated her hair a few years ago
